They wanted to make sure consumers appreciated the strong reputation the proceeded the new business.

Linking is a powerful way to gain credibility to your website. It is technically an easy topic, but more of a strategy since it requires two companies to truly care about each other’s success.

Jennifer James was the designer for a project involving a remodeling contractor. Once the project was completed, a new webpage was created on the Jennifer James website, located inside its Portfolio Pages and titled “Effortless Kitchen Design”. When reading the content of that page, one will find the following text, “IN EUGENE’S COBURG ROAD NEIGHBORHOOD, this kitchen remodel reflects the best of thoughtful kitchen design—where color, cabinetry, and convenience work in harmony. Built by one of our trusted contractor partners, the space features a modern palette and curated materials that bring design-forward living into the everyday.”

Clicking on the “contractor partners” will bring you to the dedicated page for the remodeler. The remodeler’s webpage also references Jennifer James as the designer, and links back to the Jennifer James project page. In essence, both companies tell the story as it relates to their business, while acknowledging the other business’s participation.
